Desperate Housewives: Eva Longoria Quitting Show for Motherhood?

Despite her previous statements regarding her staying on the highly watched series, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is reportedly hinting that she wants to leave Wisteria Lane for good. The reports recently proliferated about the 32-year-old actress wanting to settle down and start a family.

In July, Longoria’s nuptials with NBA star Tony Parker took place in lavish Paris , and she told the press that she and her husband are in talks about having children. However, she added that she is still willing to postpone motherhood for a later date, to save room for her hit television series, Desperate Housewives. Moreover, she said that she won’t depart from the show unless it ends, and that she won’t work on another series after the ABC dramedy.

However, recent reports say that Longoria is ready to quit the series to start her own family. She was quoted saying, “I’ve always loved the idea of having lots of children. If I’m around any baby, I’m like, ‘Aaaaahhhh, babies!’”

“I was pretty ambitious when I moved to Hollywood and I succeeded. But now I’ve found new ambitions,” Longoria said. “I want to work, I want to be a great wife and I want to have children. This is a new chapter in my life. I will be very sad to go but I’ll have more time to do movies.”

But aside from her dreams of becoming a mother, Longoria confessed about her dedication to being a housewife. Even if she’s busy in Los Angeles filming her hit show, she still finds time to fly back home to her husband in Texas , which is the home base of his basketball team, the San Antonio Spurs.

” Texas is home, Los Angeles is where I work,” she explained. “If Desperate Housewives call me and say you’re off tomorrow, I’ll catch a red-eye flight to Texas , be there in time to make Tony breakfast, fix him lunch and dinner, then fly back.”

Desperate Housewives Star Walking Down the Aisle With a Lavish Tiara

One of the perks of being a woman these days is that you get to undergo the traditional bridal shower before your big day. This is, of course, if you are among the ones living outside the Hollywood fame and fortune.

But pretend for one moment that you are a big entertainment celebrity like Eva Longoria, who plays sexy housewife Gabrielle Solis on the hit television series, Desperate Housewives, how many bridal showers do you think you would like to have? If you’re tempted to say two, then that’s just about the right number.

Apparently, Longoria received not one, but two bridal showers, courtesy of her Desperate Housewives co-stars Felicity Huffman and Teri Hatcher. As if it wasn’t enough that she’s marrying NBA star Tony Parker this coming July, she also got to attend two separate lavish events in her honor (and of course, two separate set of gifts). Talk about lucky.

Funnily enough, Longoria’s character from the show is also getting hitched. No, Gabrielle is not renewing her vows to Carlos. She is set to wed Victor, her latest love interest, during the show’s season finale. However, unlike Longoria, Gabrielle will not be getting double bridal showers. Instead, she will get to do her wedding march with a lovely little tiara on her head.

Now, before you say you would rather have two bridal showers (and again, two sets of gifts), here is a brief description of the lavish accessory. Diamond-studded and valued at over 1 million dollars, the Doris Panos creation can be worn in two ways: as a sparkling tiara or as a stunning choker. If that wasn’t enough to impress you, the Desperate Housewives costume design team passed up four other big-time jewelry designers because they believed that the tiara was the best and most appropriate for the characters (both Gabrielle and Victor come from affluent families).

Tips for celebrity spotting in Las Vegas

Living in Las Vegas for 15+ years you learn where all the celebrities like to hang out.

Las Vegas is one giant playground for the rich and famous. Celebrities are known to dine at the finest restaurants and party at the hottest nightspots. They have been seen at the grocery store and In-N-Out Burger but it’s mostly on the strip where you will see them.

Nightclubs like Pure in Caesar’s Palace, JET in the Mirage, or LAX in the Luxor cater to stars like Paris Hilton, Leonardo di Caprio, and Pamela Anderson. Most of the clubs have VIP rooms to give the celebrities their privacy but you still can spot them. There is no last call for alcohol in Las Vegas so celebrities can be seen partying till the wee morning hours.

To see the likes of Tobey Maguire or Lindsey Lohan, one has to be able to get into the club. It can be done but you might be standing in line for awhile or better yet, just hand over some cash to the bouncer. They have been known to take a few bucks to let people in.

Stars do need to eat though and you will definitely find them eating at some of the finest restaurants in the city. N9ne Steakhouse in the Palms, Fix at the Bellagio, or Bradley Ogden in Caesar’s are where you can see celebrities like Andre Agassi and Stefft Graf, Steve Schirripa, George Clooney, and even former President George Bush. He has been known to dine at Morton’s Steakhouse.

It doesn’t take much to make a reservation to one of these restaurants but don’t expect to pay Applebee’s prices.

The stars come to Vegas for other forms of entertainment to. They like to take in concerts and shows. Lately many have been spotted at the Mirage taking in The Beatles Love, a Cirque du Soleil show. You can find Cirque shows up and down the strip. Shows are expensive but definitely worth the money.

Many celebrities like to come to town for a boxing match, Nascar races, and the National Finals Rodeo.

There are also music award shows held in the city a couple of times a year. Just head down to that venue with your camera and watch the star walk the red carpet.

And we can’t forget how celebrities love to shop. If you go to the Forum Shops in Caesar’s or the Fashion Show Mall, you just might spot them at some of the high-end stores.

When my sister comes to town she always stays at the Four Seasons. She has seen Faith Hill and Mark McGrath by the pool, Denzel Washington and Steven Tyler in the elevator.

If you aren’t in New York or Los Angeles, Las Vegas is the next best place for a celebrity sighting.

So if your a local or a tourist you can bet they will be down somewhere on the fabulous Las Vegas Strip.
