Winner of "big Brother" Moving on to Movies

DEC 20th, 2006 – Disabled actor Eddie McGee stars in horror film THE ANGEL for Paul Hough Entertainment, Inc.

Eddie McGee, who lost a leg to cancer when he was twelve, has struggled to overcome adversity and has landed the lead role in Paul Hough’s THE ANGEL, which recently finished post-production and is heading on the film festival circuit.. Eddie, who became one of the world’s most famous amputees when he won the CBS show BIG BROTHER, has recently also completed filming for both Law And Order and Guiding Light.

“Usually I get cast as a returning soldier, who’s lost his leg in battle. But Paul (Hough) wouldn’t have any of that.” said Eddie, from his New York home.

“Paul cast me first in Chris Jericho’s music video “Enemy”, which was censored for MTV. In it I played a man who leaps out of a wheelchair and climbs 20 stories using only his hands and arms – and pure determination – only to commit suicide. We certainly got some hate mail for that. Paul (Hough) believes that the disabled shouldn’t play traditional disabled roles, and in the Angel I take on a role involving action and wire-work-stunts. It’s incredible, and will paint disabled actors in a whole new light.”

Hough laughs and adds “Eddie isn’t disabled. Anyone who’s met him will tell you that. He’s an incredible actor and I’m honored he accepted the role.”

Hough is not afraid of controversy. His internationally released multi-award winning documentary about backyard wrestling “The Backyard” was slammed by Jan Stuart of Newsday: “The pint-sized version of World Wrestling Entertainment on display here is sport as child pornography, one in which the participating minors and their sanctioning parents are complicit.” yet championed by Dave Kehr of The New York Times: “It’s an astounding anthropological study of that strange tribe known as the American teenager.”

For Hough, The Angel will be equally as controversial. “I’m sure there will be those who feel that Eddie shouldn’t play the role I’ve cast him in. Well, I honestly don’t think that continually casting disabled actors as disabled characters is good for society in general and I hope with films such as The Angel, that doors will start to open for disabled actors for other, non-traditional roles. Seriously, why is it that Eddie and others like him have to make a living playing an Iraq war veteran?”

Hate Days are Weak

Smarter people than me, if such a group actually exist, have struggled to find a solution to the threat of terror. Islamic fundamentalists are often berated, but I have a certain amount of sympathy for their plight: if I couldn’t have a bet or a bacon sandwich, I’d probably be suicidal myself.

I don’t want to ram my own theories down anyone’s throat (if I was to ram anything down somebody’s throat, it wouldn’t be a theory), but the only way we can move forward as a multicultural society is to embrace the concept of secularism. The only church I would ever enter is the tubby Welsh one, and I’d need a good few ales beforehand to warm the goggles up.

To hate your fellow man because of the way he lives is absurd, but to hate because of the way a person looks is the height of stupidity. The make-up of skin colour is merely a solitary letter out of the 3.1 billion letters of human DNA. You don’t have to be Stephen Hawking to realise the idiocy of racism, even Mrs Hawking could work that one out; if she wasn’t down the gym working the bags.

The world looked on in disgust as little as 50 years ago in Alabama, when a group of Caucasians chased after anyone with a darker skin. Yet somewhat ironically, the whole of Britain will cheer a repeat in the Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon.

Lewis Hamilton is undoubtedly the natural heir to German cheating-machine Michael Schumacher. Bookmakers are offering odds of 11/4 about Lewis winning at Silverstone, that’s a racing certainty.

I was overjoyed to read that the Ferrari had caught up with McLaren, but my happiness subsided as I realised this had nothing to do with football. As a result of Raikkonen’s win in Paris, Hamilton can now be backed at 8/13 to win the world championship. It’s time to top up.

Tennis is a sport that absolutely refuses to segregate; they’ll happily accept any middle-class youngster into their ranks.

This year’s Wimbledon has been ruined by the atrocious weather. It’s been confirmed that we endured the wettest June for 50 years; only Terry can be happy about that.

I blame the rain for Mauresmo making an early exit from the tournament; you can’t produce your best tennis if your balls are all soggy. I’ve decided to now get on Justine Henin at 4/9, she’s a lucky girl.

Sexism is another one of my pet-hates. I honestly believe that a woman can do anything that a man tells her to. I can’t see any of the girls winning Big Brother though; if I had to point to a winner from any of the original housemates, I could only raise my finger to Amanda. Liam has to be supported at 7/2 for outright glory; it’s one of the best bets ever.

The great thing about cycling is the multinational nature of the sport. A person of any race, religion or sexual orientation can succeed, as long as they’re prepared to put in the years of hard graft needed to find a quality chemist.

Riding a bike in treacherous surroundings may sound unappealing, yet you never hear a word of complaint from Peter Andre. My sources tell me that Alejandro Valverde is a live runner in the Tour De France; I’ll be getting on at 6/1.

Homophobia remains prevalent in today’s society. Personally, I can’t see the problem with Prince Edward bringing up a baby. The 4/6 for England winning their one-day rubber-match against the West Indies is incredibly cute.

Smokers are another group who are unfairly discriminated against. I just hope there’s no truth in the rumour that a young Glaswegian will be prosecuted for lighting up in an airport. The 10/3 for Chile holding Brazil to a draw in their Copa America quarter-final will help recoup any draconian fine.

Family Christmas Celebration Ideas

In this article read about some of the ways families across America celebrate Christmas.

Christmas tradition #1:

Purchase music from the great English cathedrals.  Gather stories about the Salisbury and Worchester Cathedral of England.  As you play your music during the holidays tell your family the stories of how the great organs played in these Cathedrals and the choirs sang during the Christmas holiday celebrations

Christmas tradition #2:

Set aside time to do some special holiday baking.  Involve the entire family in the process.  Package up your goodies to give to family, friends and neighbors as they visit and deliver their presents to you.  Allow your children to give out the gifts of home baked goods.

Fruitcakes, homemade chocolate chip cookies are staples of Christmas baking.  Continue to create your own line of baked goods each year

Christmas tradition #3:

As you start your baking traditions, gather your stories of the true meaning of Christmas and encourage your children to pass these stories to their children and on and on through each generation after you.  All the while you are sifting; stirring, baking and preparing the gift packages tell the stories to your children and other family members.

Christmas tradition #4:

As the season unfolds, read or purchase audio tapes of the Christmas story and the Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, or any other favorite Christmas story.  Decorate the house and put up the tree as your stories in the background play.

Be an example by keeping a spirit of generosity, peacemaking and hospitality throughout the Christmas season

Keep in mind and in your story telling the incarnation, the moment of when God became one of us to share our everyday experiences as we do, and that Christmas is the time we celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ.

Christmas tradition #5:

Purchase a nativity scene and have this set up in a prominent place in your home

Each time a child is born into your family, purchase another figurine to add to the scene and display these each year.  Your figurines can be anything you desire to represent each new person born into your family.  When in-laws are added, add a figurine to your nativity scene.

Christmas tradition #6:

Celebrate Christmas Eve with your parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and so on.

Have an open house on Christmas Day for anyone with nowhere else to go and present a gift or home made baked gift and dinner to those who may otherwise have no Christmas at all.

You may want to organize a rotation with your neighborhood for the big open house Christmas party each year.

Christmas tradition #7:

Dress up your kids in costumes like Mary and Joseph and go door to door, asking if they can come in to sing Christmas songs or deliver baked goods.

These are just some of the ways we can participate in the joy and hope of the Christmas season.  Through our traditions we teach our children a small lesson in life of why Christ was born and how he would have us to treat one another – with love and kindness.

Has your favorite NCAA football team played for 120 years? That is how long Penn State has been dominating the gridiron. Throughout the years, the team has maintained outstanding records, while undergoing changes of its players, coaches, and nicknames. Most fans of Penn State and NCAA football are aware that Penn State has won two National Championships. However, that is only one indicator of the squad’s winning tradition. Other gauges include:

1. Coach Joe Paterno

Paterno is currently coaching the Penn State Nittany Lions in his 43rd season. For many Penn State fans, Paterno IS Penn State football. His accomplishments include:

• 2 NCAA football championships (1982, 1986)

• 3 Big Ten Conference Championships (1994, 2005, 2006)

• Winning roughly 75% of the games he has coached

• A 23-10-1 record (.696 winning percentage) in Bowl games

• 3 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year awards (1978, 1982, 1986)

2. Nittany Lion Mascot

People refer to the Nittany Lion, mascot of the Pennsylvania State University athletic teams, as a cougar, lion, panther, or puma. Unfortunately, the animal became extinct a quarter of a century after the school’s 1855 founding. Why is the mascot Nittany Lions? Penn State’s campus sits within the Nittany Valley, while mount Nittany stands nearby.

Harrison D. “Joe” Mason chose the Nittany Lion symbol, in 1907. A member of Penn State’s baseball team, Princeton showed the visiting team two Bengal tigers. Mason noted that a Penn State Nittany Mountain Lion could overpower a Princeton tiger. Penn State won the game and the rest as they say-is history.

3. Outstanding Bowl game record

Through its history, Penn State has played in 41 bowl games. Its overall record in those games is 26-12-2 (.675) while its record in “major” bowl games, is 14-5-1 (.725).

4. One Heisman Trophy winner

In 1973, John Cappelletti, a running back for Penn State, won the Heisman Trophy. During his senior year at Penn State, he had 286 carries for 1,522 yards, and racked up 17 touchdowns. In his acceptance speech for the Heisman Trophy, Cappelletti dedicated the award to Joey, his dying brother. After graduating from Penn State, John played for the Los Angeles Rams (1974-1978), and then the San Diego Chargers (1980-1983).

Two decades after his senior year at Penn State, the College Football Hall of Fame inducted Cappelletti.

5. Pro Football Hall of Fame Inductees

Besides creating a winning tradition at its school, Penn State football has produced successful NFL players as well. Ex-Penn State players who the professional football Hall of Fame has inducted, include:

• Jack Ham (Linebacker): Pittsburgh Steelers

• Franco Harris (Running Back): Pittsburg Steelers/Seattle Seahawks

• Mike Michalske (Guard): New York Yankees/Green Bay Packers

• Lenny Moore (Flanks/Running Back): Baltimore Colts

• Mike Munchak (Guard): Houston Oilers

From its mascot to its future professional football all-stars, Penn State has represented outstanding football, for over a century. Use Penn State Nittany Lions merchandise to cheer on the team as it bounds toward its third NCAA football championship!

Choosing a New Career Path: Be a Celebrity Wedding Planner

June 27, 2009 by gossip dog

If I were to choose a different career path altogether, I would definitely choose a job that will give me so much freedom to be my self and express my creativity and ideas that are never wronged or mistaken to be passé. Being a Celebrity Wedding Planner is a career that has gained so much respect and reputation among millions and millions of people; both the famous and infamous alike. Celebrity Wedding Planners have established lasting friendships with celebrities and other renowned personalities which in itself is a glorious achievement altogether.

Imagine working and earning as though you are just having a fun night out or coffee meeting with your friends and loved ones and discussing about deadlines and plans that do not seem very hard to retain in the head. Not that the work of a celebrity wedding planner isn’t hard in itself because I bet it is, not to mention all the deadlines and demands of some celebrities that are sometimes out of control, I still think that it is a great career that will give you a spot in the limelight.

Imagine if I were a renowned celebrity wedding planner, all the other celebrities probably know how I work and how professional I am in my chosen field. People would know me for the celebrity weddings I planned and would call on me to plan theirs or their relatives. Being a celebrity wedding planner would make me earn millions and would be my key to ultimate stardom – something that most people dream of.

Taking into consideration all the prestige that comes with the life of a celebrity wedding planner, I cannot help but think how lucky they are. They are able to work very closely with celebrities and get to actually stay at their house or join them on trips in search of the perfect pieces to design their wedding. With this in mind, I wonder if real celebrity wedding planners still feel all giddy and excited when they deal with famous celebrities or do they get bored because of the commonality of the situation. Do celebrity wedding planners still realize how lucky they are to be working with real celebrities many people would die for just to get a photograph signed?

Speaking only in behalf of my dream of changing my career path could be nothing compared to the actual experiences, both positive and negative, real celebrity wedding planners have. Whatever it is that comes to mind when they are called to plan a celebrity wedding, I would probably never know. But thinking of how great it probably is makes me day dream of the day I could get to meet my favorite celebrities and plan their very own wedding for them. This is definitely something that I had in mind as a career since I was a young child. To able to achieve this will truly be a dream come true. This is with the deepest and greatest hope of making my most utterly inexplicable day dreams come true.

HNE Castings: How To Prepare For Reality TV Show Auditions

June 26, 2009 by gossip dog

Part of the appeal that has reality TV shows so intriguing is the fact that the characters are true-life people, folks who could be your neighbors or co-workers. This engages the audience in a way that not only allows them to relate to the characters, but also makes them feel as if they too could be a television star by being on one of these shows.

Many people in fact do want to be on a reality television show and would like to know how, when and where they can audition to be on shows like The Biggest Loser, The Bachelor and others. Below are some tips on how to prepare for your reality TV show audition.

Get Started

Several reality shows allow candidates to apply online or by mail. For other shows, you must make a videotape of yourself and send it in. There are many reality shows that require that you audition in person. In order to start preparing for the audition process, you’ll need to find all the details of that process. Start by looking at the TV network Web sites for reality TV show casting information

When and Where?

There are many online sources for finding out when and where live auditions are held for reality shows. Some blogs or audition sites list audition schedules for multiple reality shows. If you are interested in a specific show only, for example The Amazing Race, you could go to the Web site of the TV network that the show is on to find audition information. Once you know when and where auditions are, you’ll need to figure out the logistics of being available for and getting to the audition. There may not necessarily be an audition in your home town or city. In this case, you’ll need to arrange travel to the nearest audition site.

Know Your Story

Whether you are applying to be on a reality TV show online, through the mail, or showing up to a live audition, you must prepare by knowing what you will say about yourself. You will need to portray yourself as an interesting person. Start by brainstorming a list of as many different facts about yourself as you can possibly think of. Include places you’ve live, places you’ve been, accomplishments you’ve made, anything at all that makes you interesting. After that, narrow it down to 5-10 interesting tidbits that you can memorize and speak about on demand.

Make for Good Drama

Many of today’s reality shows claim they’re not casting to fill niches or to create conflict. Despite those claims anyone who has seen more than one episode of any reality show can tell this is not always true. The fact is, reality TV must have some drama in order to be interesting and engaging. Casting people that are likely to create interesting types of conflict ensures this element will be covered. You can use this to your advantage. First off, make sure to keep it real. Don’t lie or grossly exaggerate. Think about your opinions and outlooks on controversial matters. Play up certain things about your lifestyle that may clash with that of someone else. Play up certain things about you that make you likely to fill a certain niche.

Confidence is Key

In conclusion, once you have found out all the details about the audition, prepared and memorized your ’story,’ and strategized your drama factor, focus on your confidence. You must come across as someone outgoing who is not afraid to be themselves and be outspoken. If nothing else, focusing on this will give you the greatest chance of being cast on a reality TV show.
