Big Brother 7 – Week Two

The Big Brother house is always unpredictable during its lengthy run and the most dangerous thing punters can do is try and pre-empt who will be up for eviction before the nominations are announced and then bet accordingly.

This very occurrence took place this week, with Grace Adams-Short seemingly in the firing line. Grace had been seen all week seemingly picking on Nikki and bitching about her behind her back and also bed-hopping between Mikey and George, before the latter left the house on his own accord.

Also, being a female in the house is usually bad news as far as eviction survival is concerned because should they go head to head with a male house member, they are usually voted out by the public, very often by a large percentage.

On the betting exchanges, Grace was trading at around 6/10 and had been as low as 1/2, making her the firm favourite to be the second person evicted from the house, but this all changed on Tuesday when it came to nominations.

Grace received just two nominations, one unsurprisingly from Nikki and the other from Glyn, who was sick of her talking about herself non-stop. Two nominations were not enough to put formerly odds-on Grace up for the public vote as Richard received four and Lea and Sezer received three each, putting the trio up for eviction instead.

Sezer, following a fortnight of arrogant behaviour, vowing to “bully” new housemates Aisleyne and Sam and having a dramatic fall-out with Richard midweek and reducing him to tears seems to have sealed his fate. He instantly became the favourite to face eviction and traded as low as 1/33 (Bet3on Friday from a high of 1/5 following the announcement of the trio up for eviction. Some lucky punter had backed Sezer at a high of 29/1 earlier on in the week while the lemmings jumped on the Grace bandwagon.

Sezer is the overwhelming favourite to leave but there could be a final twist in this tale. He could survive at the expense of Lea, who was booed considerably upon her entrance into the Big Brother house for having, as she put it, “blonde hair and big boobs”. As we established earlier, women up for eviction in the Big Brother house are in a rather precarious position.

Value hunters could be onto a winner if they back Lea at more tempting odds of 18/1 while Richard looks safe and should not be supported at comparatively massive odds of around 25/1.

What Are Some Ways to Get Noticed by Reality TV Show Producers?

If you are interested in reality television, there are a number of ways that you can go about getting yourself noticed. However, the problem that you invariably run into when trying to figure out how to get yourself noticed by a producer for a reality television show is that figuring out exactly how to do it is a difficult thing to do. After all, attempts to get noticed are not done in a vacuum and for that reason if you have one attempt that goes poorly, your whole goal of getting on a particular reality television show can be dashed in the blink of an eye. You need to make sure that your first attempt is good enough to get on the show without making it something so weird that it would preclude you from ever being selected. Well, below are some ideas to get you started, arranged in order from safest to trickiest.

Video

Video is a great way to start because it is one of the safest things that you could do. Video in modern times doesn’t necessarily mean getting in front of a camera and speaking, although of course for some reality shows that might be the way to go in order to provide a particular flavor to your video. You can send in a tape or DVD of your video to the show or in many cases you can even direct them to a website like YouTube where you place your video online for them to see.

Videos allow you to really be yourself in the most basic way. You can go ahead and tell them about yourself and why you think you would be good for the show. Of course, some shows already require videos are part of the initial application process, but for the ones that do not you can always make sure that you include a video. Videos are very safe and very hard to go wrong with and that is why they are the best option for someone that is starting out. However, the problem with the video is that most people think immediately about doing one and that means that with a video it can sometimes be hard to stand out from the crowd.

Website

One step up from the video in terms of trickiness is the website. There are many options for how you can get a website done, with the easiest being to go through something like MySpace or Facebook. However, if those options seem a bit too mainstream for you, another option that is open is creating the website yourself. This will give you the greatest amount of creative control over what ends up on the website, allowing the finished product to have a lot more of your personality in it than a MySpace or Facebook page could ever have.

Since websites can stream videos, you can actually still include a video in your final presentation. A website will allow you to go into great detail about why you would be a great candidate for that particular show and it will of course allow you to answer all of their concerns to your fullest in a way that is neatly referenced and organized for them to visit. With a website however, you risk showing a lot of your personality through the layout and colour scheme that you choose to use. If you use one that turns off the person that visits it, you could damage your chances. This is a minor risk however and that is why a website is still a reasonably safe way to get things done.

Imprinted 2nd Party, 3rd Party, 4th Party, 5th Party, 6th Party Invitations for Birthday Celebrations

2nd Birthday, 3rd Birthday, 4th Birthday, 5th Birthday, 6th Birthday Party Celebrations

Although the first birthday party for a child is usually the most memorable one, the 2nd birthday, 3rd birthday, 4th birthday, 5th birthday 6th birthday and older are also important milestones and merit a birthday celebration for your child. When you have a baby it doesn’t seem any time at all and you are looking at a first grader.

Second (2nd) Birthday Party: You think back to your child’s second birthday party and they still feel like yesterday. Once your child passes his 2nd birthday party the theme and atmosphere of such parties start to change. One simply approach would be to have a few playmates over for a small birthday play day with cake, ice cream and presents.

Third (3rd) Birthday Party: Today many three year olds go to day care while their parents are at work and so they are bound to form relationships with other children – if your child started at day care before they were three then their 3rd birthday party could mean third birthday party invitations for a number of other three year olds. A third birthday party should include the birthday boy, his playmates and a few simple birthday songs and games like ‘Stack the blocks the highest’. A 3rd birthday party might be too young for a clown or playing blindfold games. Your 3rd birthday party guests might not be able to understand fully structured games very well. They only know if they do something good or better than other children, everyone will give them attention. Finger foods and one or two easy games, ring around the roses, for instance, are usually fine at this age. Most of the guests at a third birthday party will need to be in bed soon after eight p.m.

Fourth (4th) Birthday Party: For a child’s fourth birthday party, he should be ready for a ‘real’ birthday party. The 4th birthday party list should begin with his playmates. At 4 year old, they enjoy and love lots of birthday party decorations. By the 4th birthday party your child and most of his or her guests will probably be into Sesame Street, which makes party ideas a breeze. Give your child and their fourth birthday party guests a Sesame Street party and they are bound to have a great time. If you use the image of your child’s favorite Sesame Street character wherever possible and your child will have a very happy fourth birthday party. Fun fourth party games can include games such as musical chairs and carrying a hard-boiled egg on a spoon to the finish line without dropping it relay race can be appropriate. Additionally, a good spellbound movie will always be good to relax the kids and you. Simply spread a few blankets on the floor and have some pillows handy for sleepyheads.

Fifth (5th) Birthday Party: It seems like only yesterday you were making plans for your baby first birthday party and now they are already five. They are hitting the big ‘5’ and either starting school or just in school, and having a ‘big’ party will not happen every year. A 5th birthday party is a rather different affair to the parties that preceded it. Children become a lot more aware of other people and the world around them by the time they are five, and will regard a lot of things that they loved only a year ago as babyish. Some five year olds are more mature in their attitudes than others and it can sometimes be difficult to arrive at a happy medium when it comes to their fifth birthday party time. Five year olds like to be entertained at their 5th birthday party. A clown gives many young children a lot of fun as they like the silliness that a clown sometimes engages in. Face painting is another thing that five year olds enjoy. Make a boy up to look like a pirate, put a kerchief round his head and he’s good to go for a great time at a fifth birthday party.

Sixth (6th) Birthday Party: The first five years of your child’s life will fly by, and then it isn’t very long before you find yourself planning a party for half a class full of first graders. Your child’s 6th birthday party should be one to remember as it will be the first party when he or she has had some input into the guest list. Around the sixth birthday, the birthday party can be simple sleepover parties, slumber parties for girls and all nighters for boys, along with popcorn, video games, junk food and movies. Half the fun is letting the 6th birthday kids stay up all night and sleep half the next day. What 6 year old kid doesn’t love staying up all night. Even better yet, during the summer time, maybe sleeping outside in a tent.

Get your child involved in sending out the birthday party invitations. One good way of doing this is to get your child to draw something and then have it copied on the personalized children birthday invitations. Children of this age love to show off their skills. If your child likes to dance or sing then why not have a karaoke party? Kids love trying to sing the songs while they struggle with some of the words on the screen. It really will be a 2nd birthday, 3rd birthday, 4th birthday, 5th birthday 6th birthday 6th birthday party to remember if you video the birthday party.

If you’ve never played golf, perhaps you’ll never understand the attraction. But if you’re like many celebrities–whether they’ve been playing for years or just recently began to tee it up–you’ll agree that the game has an unusual appeal that can consume you.

Golf has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years, so much so that the game–long and wrongly considered a less-than-physically-challenging sport–is inspiring yoga and Pilates workouts. Celebrity golfers, who often pay personal trainers big money to help them get in shape and help them stay physically fit–say there are some definite physical benefits associated with an outing on the links.

Experts say you can get the most out of a round of golf if you walk the course, the length of which can measure about 5 miles, depending on the course. Walking improves your cardiovascular health, builds endurance and allows you to burn a moderate amount of calories. If you carry your clubs, you can get an upper body workout as well. And hitting the ball actually can improve your hand-eye coordination, which can be useful in many other areas.

Many celebrities and professional athletes have begun playing to add another level of competition to their lives and to be able to spend more time together with their families, who are joining them on the course.

Some players like Oakland Raiders cornerback Ray Buchanan love the sport so much that he and his wife, Sheree, built their dream home at Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth, Ga., home of the PGA Tour’s Bellsouth Classic. Their multimillion-dollar mansion overlooks the 9th hole, and Buchanan, a former Pro-Bowler, plays two to three times a week during the off-season.

“At first, I didn’t like golf,” says Buchanan, formerly of the Atlanta Falcons. “But after a while, it was like a virus–so contagious that I wanted to keep playing and learn more.”

Sheree Buchanan, who starred as part of the “NFL wives” team in the Emmy-winning reality TV series The Amazing Race 4, just started playing golf a few months ago, in an effort to spend more time with her husband. She took up golf; he took up her favorite sport–tennis. She’s just beginning to understand why her husband loves the game so much–the competition with yourself and a desire to always do better. Eventually, the couple hopes that their four children will grow to love the sport as much as they do.

“[Golf is] still brand new for me,” Sheree says. “For us, it’s fun. He teaches me, and as long as we don’t have a lot of people [playing] behind us, it’s OK.”

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad, who also owns an entertainment company and nonprofit foundation, says he started playing golf when he entered the NFL and “fell in love with it.”

“Golf is something that is very relaxing for me,” says Muhammad, who already is encouraging his 3-year-old son to play. “I think being able to play golf allows you to meet and associate with different people.”

But it’s not only professional athletes who enjoy time on the course. Actors such as Samuel L. Jackson and Will Smith, and singer Johnny Gill also love the game. Even celebrity couples make the rounds together.it comes to golf: “We wish we had started to play when we were kids.”

How Reality Television Provides Insight into Complicated Life Situations

April 27, 2009 by gossip dog

life games, reality TV games, and Survivor type shows have proven to create responsive programming that keeps the audience glued to their seats. Many people understand the quality of such entertainment that allows people to absorb more, even if it is gross and gut wrenching or drama filled and emotionally explosive. Whatever the case, they provide insights into the complicated inner workings of the human psyche and the situations in which they face difficult choices towards continuing. Many shows use this premise to extend the “it” factor as well as the “awe” factor that usually keeps their audience coming for more week after week. Popular reality game shows are even hitting close to home with competitions for weight loss. Since obesity is a growing problem around the world, pitting up behemoths of the weight world against each other in a challenge to lose enough weight and win a cash prize will get anyone moving. This helps to inspire people who feel that they are not able to progress due to several factors that they face at home. This is true for all contestants that take place in such shows and they prove that it could be done with a little motivation and proper diet. Everyone tunes in to see who is sent home as well as who stays to win the grand prize as well as the best prize of all, personal fitness and a prolonged life. Other shows tend to work off fears and extreme situations in which people have to face their only weaknesses, their mortal fears. This tests their ability to keep their cool as well as their sanity in mind draining activities that keep their body and stomachs in test. Willpower is the only thing that keeps them from succeeding, and even the physical challenges are not as hard as they seem, until a bucket of snakes or scorpions is poured on top. Keeping your cool while ingesting disgusting foods and powering through the various sets of obstacles underwater, through fire or plain slippery vomit inducing corridors is the way you win the cash prize in the end. Some shows even play like real life video games, keeping light on your feet and ahead of enemies which may catch you and ruin your chances of progressing through the game is key. There are even certain aspects of such shows that allow players to gain the ability to forgive being caught or hitch a ride towards freedom. Whatever the case, they must complete strenuous activities and perform tasks that are taxing to one’s mental and physical state. Keeping ahead is key and making the appropriate sacrifices are all it takes to get ahead. The popular style of voting off other players in the game has often been referred to as survivor style reality show ingenuity and has been a long running theme in many different shows. This is truly an amazing way to see people struggle to get ahead in their respective shows. Peering into the lives and situations from which these people come helps to incite the mind, and it might provide tips on what you should do if you ever find yourself in this situation yourself. Inside the Mind of a Reality Tv Contestant

April 27, 2009 by gossip dog

Why do we watch reality TV so much? My theory: we hate the contestants. Face it, having a valid reason to despise is just the rarest of experiences. There is nothing quite like the vibe guilt-free hatred. So a show like Big Brother, full of prepped, prim, and obnoxiously self-absorbed narcissists is a boon for the malcontent among us.

Big Brother fans will argue that the show is a contest of intellectual skill. Indeed! Hauling garbage cans full of gummy worms, using a little sex to butter up your competitors, stabbing each other in the back… all the hallmarks of a game of human chess if I’ve ever seen it. It’s not that Big Brother contestants are stupid (quite a few of them are), nor is it a matter that Big Brother fans are stupid (judging from the numbers, I’d say it must be a factor though.) Big Brother is merely an excuse for a large number of people, fed up with the daily wage-earner grind, to feel good about hating some pompous punk on TV.

Now how does this explain Chicken George, and other ‘older’ Big Brother contestants you ask? Easy, it gives the upper half of the target demographic (18-49 year olds) somebody to root for or, if you’re staying true to my theory, jeer. Don’t buy my snake oil? (Guaranteed to make you wise up!) Just read an interview with any Big Brother contestant and you’ll understand it a little better. They themselves, the sane ones at least, don’t think of it as a game and perhaps Big Brother’s most legendary player, Dr. Will, actually used a strategy of not wanting to play to stay in the fray. Heck, Big Brother all-star winner Mike Boogie won with admittedly having no strategy at all. Tell me we’re supposed to root for these people.

So, if you want to find out more about Big Brother or even about big brother contestant you should visit http://www.buddytv.com
